This is my favorite comment from the video “ The Trojan Rapture”. This is exactly why I was excited about doing YT video, because there are a lot of smart people out there. While I kind of already thought along these lines, and hence the critique video of the Live by Faith ministry, I wasn’t sure if I was thinking of it correctly. This helps in that direction, so thank you to James for taking the time to lay it out in this way…

(fyi I’m still a 50/50 on the rapture idea:) Kind of like the 3 of Daniel with the fire. Sure, God could rescue us in such a fashion, but even if not! I love the idea of “rapture” because every one does! There is no one who would not want that, and I see that as tricky in and of it’s self.)

Comment with some good info on Rapture doctrine, did Paul and Jesus teach it? That is the question. And yall tell me, is the 7 years of tribulation, just an idea out of a theory? You dissect that and lmk, if you dare? I’m not interested in what we are told about it. LMK, if you use your brain and find stuff.

As I see it the “rapture” it is still possible, just because Enoch and Elijah + Jesus = a lot of variables and possibilities. But even if that is the case let’s say, I don’t think we should count ourselves worthy of such a thing just because we are members of the church body, automatically. Then there is what is laid out in Revelation, that seems pretty contrary to “rapture” thinking, at least to me. Maybe for the sealed 144K that are of the tribes of Israel? Or maybe they are sealed in such a way that protects them from the chaos? Idk. But they are said to be the first fruits either way, so?

But the far larger group “the multitudes” are said to be coming out of the Great Tribulation, and prior to that statement we are told that they will do so by becoming like their brothers that have already died. How we get to the point that the entire church is spared from any suffering of such times, is what is a mystery to me?

What about “Harpazo”?

To aid in that thought another cool commenter pointed out that the word “Harpazo” is used many times in the New Testament. He was making the opposite point, but I ended up looking it up, and it is used 14 times in the NT. With only 1 use in any context of a potential “rapture”. So your telling me there is a chance!? Haha. That is what the entire theory is built around, but I find that sketchy because I could easily read it to mean a different thing than what we associate with “rapture”.

My semi conclusion is this… It is far better to not be “rapture reliant” in my faith. Rather it makes a lot more sense to have strong enough faith that there is a willingness to die for the name of Jesus, and even expect that. Then if there is some kind of bonus “rapture”, all the better. On the flip side if you imagine the ones who bank on rapture no matter what ending up in a serious situation? Will they be ready for that, if their faith in a rapture has failed?

I suppose I don’t like tying my faith in Jesus, to faith that He must rapture me from this dilemma under the sun. That seems like an easy reason to not believe if it didn’t take place how I hoped. The trick potential trick in the rapture idea and how we think of it as our disney land like selves, is that a huge chunk of “believers” would fall away without it.

To me it seems more and more pagan ingrained, that we deserve a disney land like ending. When it would actually make a lot of sense to test the faith of a weak generation that has had it easy compared to any past saints, with an actual test of faith. A simple test, since it is so hard to tell who is real about it or not? I’d imagine there would be a great falling away, if people actually found out they might have to die for their faith, after all. And also, why not? What have we done in this life to deserve no pain of suffering at all, exactly? Not to say it has to be like that, but that it seems way more realistic based on what Jesus and the apostles and millions since them have had to endure.

Speaking of that, yea. What about all the maurders post Jesus? You know?

Having some hope in rapture seems fine, but people these days have turned it into it’s own denomination, and who are they to place themselves in such royal position at the table? Turning it into a spectacle to build a ministry and all your hope around, seems perverted. It seems straight up arrogant, tbh.

Whatever the case, all glory to our Lord Jesus!!!
