God created flowers tho.

So, I went on a walk this evening. And as I walked out the door some orange flower struck me, and I started wondering about the flowers. This is not a new phenomenon, I’d say over the last year or so the flowers have been blowing my mind. First of all they really are just beautiful, but even more so when you start wondering about design and how God created everything in nature.

It is pretty awesome and wonderful that God even thought to make flowers for us for various reasons, but their beauty makes you wonder. Like why are they so beautiful and vibrant and colorful? Some of these things remind me of beauty and joy just exploding and bursting forth in an almost incontrollable fashion. Yet they are perfectly contained They are like little reminders that God is the Most High!

Another thing I started thinking about is how they start. Think about it. They start as little seeds buried down in the dirt. So they are just little pieces of life in the dirt, kind of like us. But then they get some living water and they spring up out of the dirt and eventually explode these beautiful patterns of color and smell! Look at this one!

Some kind of rose, I think?

Jesus said not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed like one of these! Albeit He was talking about a different flower, but still I think that same thought can be applied. So basically, the flowers beauty exceeds ours, even if we happen to be splendid to look at in our youth or whatever the case. And just like flowers our beauty is pretty short lived before we wilt and fade, but that also is beautiful.

You would think with how beautiful the flowers are, that would be the only reason they exist. But that is just what we notice about them most often. They do who knows what else really? I’m sure someone knows, but I don’t. I know they have various purposes and functions to the eco system and stuff like that. Or they can be used for medicines and nutrition, or to kill in some cases. But the truly interesting part to me is how God thought to make so many varieties of stunning beauty. Like here you go humans, consider these things?

Then I start to wonder what kind of being is this, that we are dealing with? That He would make flowers for us too? God isn’t like us, I can deduce. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and His ways are higher than our ways! I mean it is what it is by our point in time, but it really makes you wonder what this place could be like had Adam not infected our nature with sin? Maybe it would be all flowers and sunshine? As it is though, hmmm. It’s not beautiful like the flowers, is it? Some people like to pretend that it is, but that is getting hard to do I percieve.

We don’t create flowers, we end up doing stuff like producing robots, knowing that they are going to replace our purposes and work! We aren’t much like this being that makes wonderful things with grand designs, even if they are simple and overlooked most often. You might think such art would be marveled at more, but usually I don’t even see them! In fact I may never have actually seen a flower until over the last year or so. More and more I’m like, what are these things!?

I notice this is the way it is with Jesus, just more and more appreciation for God and His creations! It makes me wonder, was I dead before this new way with Jesus? I think so! Often these days I feel like a 40 year old child, getting my mind blown by flowers or whatever that day happens to bring. On the flip side of that, I see the world for what it is. Under the sun is no picnic.

This place is hard! Full of suffering and misery, even among the beauty. And I’m not immune to this, even though I do see things that are highly wonderful these days as well. So I guess my point is, stop and look at these flowers sometimes! Make sure you do, in fact. Start to wonder about God in doing so! Like, what is He doing? And how can we get back to Him!?

There is only one way, Jesus! Truly, truly. If you have eyes to see look at the flowers, man! All their beauty is for Him, don’t you know? Then if you have ears to hear, hear His words! Let those flowers explode into your brains too, man!
