Let the dead bury the dead.

This shirt has an attitude, but it's actually very positive. And I think the original saying from Jesus found in Matthew and Luke is the same, if you look at it the right way. "Let the dead bury their own dead". That is what inspired this shirt, though it’s not exactly the same thing per se. So that’s ok, it’s just an inspiration. OK?
Jesus says this to a man who says he will follow him, BUT! Back in these days a funeral could be more than just burying someone and might take up to a year to make plans and arrangements. So what Jesus is saying is leave the world stuff behind, He was there right now and for a short time. If you were going to follow Jesus, it had to be with the mindset of doing it now, and He knew that of course.
Once again in our time the same thing applies, the saying is just as relevant today as when Jesus said it! Except now we are expecting Him to return anytime, as opposed to leaving. It is an exciting time! It is also a challenging time.
As a B-911 friend pointed out recently, it’s like Revelation 12:11. Read it for yourself, but ideally for our own good we want to be at this point. “For they loved not their lives, even unto death”. In context to the chapter and verses leading upto this, it’s about how we overcome the world with our testimony of Jesus. Let the dead bury the dead, love not your life here unto death, hate it even.
I’ll point out it’s not that we hate life it’s self, but rather our lives in the world. And the world in general, because it sucks. Probably most especially at this point in time, it’s not even hard to hate life under the sun. It really shouldn’t be, if it is, you are very likely delusional about where you are at. The world it’s self makes it clear, this isn’t disney land. It’s a lot of pretending though.
We don’t hate creation, any of it. We don’t hate each other, or anyone. Just “the world”. And how it is bent on following Satan.
WW3 is a continual theme these days. Or corporate level interest trying to make the youth and everyone else gay and confused about gender, for some reason? Illigal immigrants want to reclaim the United States, whatever! And even if none of that were going on, even far worse, humans are making robots and Tec to replicate and replace as many humans as possible.
These things make it pretty easy to hate the world, so I suppose that is good. It’s not fun, per se, but it is pretty evident that there is an enemy and he has a serious problem with the Christian way of life. It doens’t seem like he Jews all that much either?
So the world is and always has been an enemy of God’s! The real and true and Most High God! Like for real, think about that. This incredible and powerful beyond our imagination being, the world makes an enemy! If you know Him, you know. It’s a crazy thing!
And therefore, “let the dead bury the dead”. As anyone who hates and request a war with God, was already dead before they even lived. What kind of foolishness is that? I’d like no part of it! And hopefully more and more “Christians” begin to wake up to these realities and get on the same page. Many already are, so thank you! God loves you! And you know that, if you are awake.
That is the benefit to being dead to the world, you see that this place is already dead. And therefore God has given you eyes to see and ears to hear. That means you very likely love The Bible! And know all kinds of things that the entire world is dead and clueless too. Sure, they aren’t going to reward you, and they will probably not like you much. But O’well. Amen?
